City of McLouth Pet Permit Policy

The City of McLouth adopted this Pet Permit Policy on April 20, 2010. It is to be incorporated with City Code Section 2, Article 4, Division 2 and City Code Section 2, Article 5, Division 2.

Permits for cats and dogs within the McLouth City Limits will be based on a fiscal year, May1st - April 30th. Current fees are: $5.00 if the animal is spayed or neutered, and $8.00 if it is not. A valid rabies vaccination certificate must be presented prior to the issuance of a permit. We will keep a copy on file for our records.

Application for a permit must be made within 30 days of bringing the animal into the City Limits.  Thereafter, applications must be made prior to June 1st for each successive year.  A late charge of $2.00 shall be assessed for each month the applicant is delinquent in making application, not to exceed a total of $24.00. The late charge shall be added to and collected with the regular permit. Any portion of a month shall be considered as a full month for the purposes of late charge computation.

Permits can be purchased at McLouth City Hall, 110 N. Union Street, McLouth, Kansas 66054. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday.
